EBOLA VIRUS –
A CRISIS WHICH CAN BE PREVENTED

Ebola Virus Disease (EVD):
  1. Symptoms include high fever, bleeding and central nervous system damage
  2. Fatality rate can reach 90% - but current outbreak has mortality rate of about 55%
  3. Incubation period is two to 21 days
  4. There is no vaccine or cure
  5. Supportive care such as re-hydrating patients who have diarrhea and vomiting can help recovery
  6. Fruit bats, a delicacy for some West Africans, are considered to be virus's natural host.
Ebola is one of the world’s most deadly viruses but is not yet airborne…Medical Advice, it can be avoided easily but carefully by following these tips:

1.       Wash your hands on a regular basis with soap and clean water.  Ordinary Soap is fair enough to kill the virus. Simple isn't it…. Try to avoid Hand Shakes, as an infected person’s body fluids can spread the virus quickly.
2.
Don’t Touch, seems cruel, but body fluids like Urine, Stools, Vomit, Blood, Nasal Mucus, Saliva, Tears, Sperm, Vaginal Secretions can all pass on the virus.. So don’t feel cruel be sensible.
3.       Cloths, Bed Sheets of Ebola affected patients should be burned and destroyed far away from human habitation.
4.
Avoid touching bodies of a person died of Ebola Virus.  You can still get infected with Ebola from their body and it ejects fluids that make it even more contagious than that of a sick person.
5.
Avoid touching, eating bush meat like Bats, Monkeys and Chimpanzees which is thought to be the source of first transmission to humans.
6.
Do not panic, or scare the health workers they are to be helped and supported.
BE WISE, SENSIBLE AND EFFECTIVE, SAVE THE WORLD FROM THIS VIRUS AND LET’S STOP SPREADING TO THE GENERATIONS TO COME… IT IS OUR MORAL RESPONSIBILITY…. HALF OF THE INFECTED PEOPLE HAVE ALREADY DIED… NOW WHAT?
